Chew Choon Eng-Hong Chieng Hun defeated Germany's Roman Spitko-Michael Fuchs 21-15, 21-18 in the second round.
However, they face a tough challenge in the last eight as they are drawn to face top seed Fu Haifeng-Cai Yun of China.
The Chinese pair defeated Malaysia's Tan Bin Shen-Ong Soon Hock 21-17, 21-13 in the second round.
Gan Teik Chai-Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif, the jointh third-fourth seed also advanced after beating Songpo Anukritayawan-Naktong Nattapon of Thailand 21-17, 21-8 in the second round.
